Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology, AIIMS, New Delhi

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist registered with Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). I have over 15 years of experience in the field of Clinical Psychology at prestigious institutes including National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS, Bengaluru), AIIMS, Delhi; Janakpuri Superspeciality Hospital; RML Hospital and G B Pant Hospital.

I have had the great fortune to train at the best institutes in the country. After finishing my graduation and post-graduation from Delhi University, I completed M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences (IHBAS, Delhi), and PhD in Clinical Psychology (specialization in alcohol and drug de-addiction) from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi).

Working at these settings, I gained hands on experience in dealing with persons of all age-groups, hailing from varied cultural and religious backgrounds and managing not just core mental health issues such as depression, OCD, Phobias, schizophrenia and Bipolar Affective Disorders, but also suffering from mental health consequences of lifestyle diseases, chronic and debilitating physical illnesses, and relationship issues.

I am the recipient of NACO Research Fellowship on HIV/AIDS for year 2010-2011 and Ramachandra N Moorthy Foundation Fellowship for Mental and Neurological Disorders and was nominated by the Government of India to attend the 11th Regional Training of Women Counselors on Treatment and Rehabilitation organized by the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program held at Chennai, India.

I have worked as a consultant with International organizations such as United Nation Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC-ROSA), Family Health International (FHI-360) and Government of Nigeria. I am also a visiting consultant with the National Institute of Social Defense, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to develop manuals and train counselors working in de-addiction centres.

I am associated with various National and International organizations like Indian Association of Clinical Psychologist, Indian Psychiatric Society, Indian Association for Social Psychiatry, World Association of Rehabilitation Psychiatry (Indian Chapter), American Psychological Association, World Association of Personality Psychology and have recently been appointed as the General Council member for Richmond Fellowship Society (Delhi Chapter).
